This month’s Colorific theme is going to help us teach preschoolers that God keeps His promises. We’ve all experienced a broken promise or two, and our preschoolers won’t have to wait long to experience one too. We want them to grow up knowing that God always keeps His promises. No matter how long we have to wait, God will come through.
We will begin week one with the story of Moses and God’s promise to always be with us. We want preschoolers to know that God is always with them, just like He was with Moses. And we have a GREEN bush that will not burn up to help with that. No matter where we are or what we are experiencing, God is with us.
Next, we will hear a thrilling story that shows how God’s promises are awesome! Like SO awesome! I mean God parting a big, BLUE sea so Moses and his people can walk across dry land is pretty awesome! Our God is so big and so mighty that He can do anything. He can do things we can’t so we can trust Him to keep His promises.
Abraham and Sarah’s story is a shining example that God keeps His promises, even when we have to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait. YELLOW is the happy color for week three because Abraham and Sarah were SO happy when they finally held that baby boy! Sometimes we have to wait for God’s perfect timing, but it’s always worth it.
We will finish the month with the story of Noah. During the first part of Noah’s story, we will focus on why we can believe God’s promises for us—because He loves us! And, what is the color of love? RED! Even when God promises something we ourselves can’t imagine, we can believe Him. Because, God always keeps His promises.
The last week of the month will be the grand finale with ALL the COLORIFIC colors in the form of a RAINBOW. The rainbow is very special because God made it to remind us that He always keeps His promises. God kept His promise to Noah, and He’ll keep His promises to us too.
Colors are a huge part of a preschooler’s world, and as we explore the colors of the rainbow, we will teach preschoolers that God loves them, and that He always keeps His promises. This is such an important part of the foundation we want to build for preschoolers as they grow to believe that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
