In week one of Wired, we talked about how not only did God design the world around us, but He wired something in us that can help us to connect with Him. And when we take notice of it, we may just find that He becomes less invisible to us all the time.
SCRIPTURE:
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:1, 27
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37
Wired – Week 1
As Christians, we know God is real. We know Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not figments of our imagination. But sometimes—if we’re honest with ourselves— it doesn’t exactly feel like God exists. So what do we do when it feels like God isn’t with us?
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 Paul is reminding us that even though God may seem invisible, He’s not. The image of God is all around us. If we just take a minute to look around, we see evidence of God at work.
- • When we see a beautiful sunset, or the majesty of the ocean, we see God.
- • When we do something nice for someone even when we don’t benefit from it, that’s God’s image in us.
- • When we realize our friends and loved ones love us in spite of all of our mistakes, that’s God at work.
- • When tragedy strikes and groups of people rally together to help those in need, we see God moving.
Today, if you are struggling with feeling like God is with you, take a few minutes and look around you. See God at work in nature, in you, and through other people, and be encouraged that God is always with you.
