DAILY DEVOTIONALS

The Devotional Series is designed to help students engage with God’s Word throughout the week. The devotions come with five unique verses and five unique prompts per week to help students think about or act on what they’ve read.

WEEK 1: DAY 1
WHAT WE’RE FOR IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT WE’RE AGAINST.
Jesus made it pretty clear that loving others was a top priority. But if we’re being honest, there are some people that are just plain hard to love! In those cases, it is important to remember that God loves us even when we’re hard to love. He loves us unconditionally, even though we don’t deserve it. Eventually, we must admit that loving others is about what God has called us to do, not always what we want to do. We love because He asked us to—that’s it! This week, commit to praying for someone in your life who is hard to love.

WEEK 2: DAY 1
GETTING TO KNOW JESUS IS HOW WE GET TO KNOW GOD.
Life constantly reminds us of our limitations. The failed math quiz, the missed free throw, and even that challenging level of a video game—all tell us that some things are just beyond our abilities. But thankfully, we have access to a God who can do anything. All of creation—from the stars in the sky to the smallest fish in the sea—reminds us that God is all powerful. As you pray today, talk to God about a struggle or limitation you’re dealing with in life. Ask Him to step in and carry the weight of it for you, as He is strong and able.

WEEK 3: DAY 1
OUR VALUE IS DETERMINED BY GOD.
People have been debating the creation of the world for a long time. Even the smartest scientists out there are still studying just how it all came to be! As believers in Jesus, we may not always understand how it happened, but we know who created everything we see. And we can trust that the God who made everything we see can also handle every detail of our lives—even the things that are hard for us to understand! That’s how our faith in Him grows! This week, make a list of some of your favorite things in creation—the beach, the sun, the mountains, the flowers. Thank God for each one as a reminder of how He is working and in control of every detail in this life.

WEEK 4: DAY 1
EVERYONE MATTERS TO JESUS, SO EVERYONE SHOULD MATTER TO US.
We don’t have to fully understand God to trust that He fully understands us. We are known and loved by God, just as we are right now! And because of that love, He promises to take care of us in any and every situation. Of course, that doesn’t mean we won’t have problems, but it does mean that when we do, we have the power of God to help us. This week, ask an adult that you trust to share how God took care of them during a difficult time in their life.

WEEK 5: DAY 1
A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS FUELS OUR LOVE FOR GOD, OTHERS, AND OURSELVES.
Have you ever thought of your schoolwork as important to God? Chances are you haven’t! It may sound a little weird, but it’s true! The work we do every-day matters to God. And not just what we’re working on, but how we’re doing it! When we work with good attitudes and our best efforts, we’re showing God that we value what He’s given us. And even though it won’t make schoolwork more fun, it will give it more purpose when you do it for God. This week, make a commitment to do your best at school, working to use what you have to honor God.
